Donald Frederick “Don” Reeder
Donald Frederick “Don” Reeder, 80, Milford, passed away at 3:35 a.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at his home.
He was born May 24, 1936, in East Alton, Ill. to Herschel and Lola (Jenkins) Reeder.
He graduated in 1954 from high school in Pearl, Ill., and was married Feb. 5, 1968, in Alton, Ill., to Betty Sue (Frye) Borders, who survives.
He was the former owner/operator of Dobe Transfer Company Inc., Milford, for 30 years and formerly worked at Veada Industries as a truck driver in New Paris for three years. He grew up in Illinois and lived in Syracuse before moving to Milford in 1975.
He was a member of Clearview United Brethren Church, Goshen.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Reeder, Milford; three daughters: Jan (Doug) Jenkins, Liberty, Ill., Joani (Murl) Walston, Nebo, Ill., and Connie Reeder, Goshen; two sons: Rick and Dana Reeder, both of Camp Point, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Chris Hall, New Paris; 16 grandchildren: Angie (Todd) Grammer, Annette (Craig) Abile and Dusty Reeder, Germany, Dustin (Meghan) Jenkins, Adam (Jenna) Jenkins, Wade (Miriah) Jenkins, Melissa (Jordan) Funderburk, Stephanie Hall, Anthony (Ashley) Hall, Sarah (Gabby) Sanchez, Michael (Amber) Hernandez, Amanda (Henry) Hernandez, Jessica (Todd) Mason, Brittany Borders, Lance (Tamara) Reeder and Cole Reeder. ; 26 great-grandchildren: Elijah, Bethany, Grace, Rose, Daniel, Dalton, Braden, Ryan, Aubry, Sydney, Rex, Macinsy, Gabriel Jr., Elishaba, Noah, Lilliana, Hayden, Donte, Natalia, Elijah, Riley, Cameron, McKenna, Braxton, Brodie and Zoie; four sisters: Kay (Merril) Turner, Louisiana, Mo., Marge (Jim) Weinman, Godfrey, Ill., Judy (Russell) Lane, East Alton, Ill., and Becky (Donnie) Walston, Pittsfield, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Mandy Walston; two grandsons: Brian Walston and Lane Jenkins; a great-granddaughter, Savannah Grammer; and sons-in-law: Robert Hall and Rolland Hernandez Jr.
Cremation will take place at cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw. Memorial services will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 5, at Clearview United Brethren Church, Goshen, with Pastor Hubert Schmucker officiating.
