Young Local Artist Receives Recognition From KREMC
WARSAW — Cayden Shepherd, kindergartener at Eisenhower Elementary School in Warsaw, had an unexpected visitor at school. KREMC’s president and CEO, Bruce Goslee, arrived at the school bearing gifts for the child.
Shepherd submitted his artwork for a calendar contest that Electric Consumer sponsors each year. His work will appear in the 2017 KREMC calendar that will be displayed in thousands of homes across the county. Shepherd received $50 from Indiana Electric Cooperatives and a special gift from KREMC. When asked what he’d like to do with his well-earned money, Shepherd said he was going to buy the Historical American Presidents coloring book.
Representatives from KREMC said they love to see the schools get involved with programs like this and they know it wouldn’t happen without the teachers. A special thanks goes to Cayden’s art teacher, Ms. Hunter, for encouraging Cayden to submit his work. KREMC hopes to see more students enter the contest each year and they look forward to recognizing future winners.
