Whitko Student Designs Restaurant Logo
SOUTH WHITLEY — Tanner Moyer, owner of Moyer’s Corner Cafe, South Whitley, recently approached the Whitko High School art department with the idea of creating a logo for his new restaurant in Silver Lake.
The new establishment has a 1950’s-style, drive-in, coney-dogs-and-homemade-root-beer theme and will be called Moyer’s Cruise In. Several Whitko High School art students showed interest and submitted designs.
Senior Shelby Martin’s logo design was selected as the winner. Moyer gifted all participating students with a $25 card to eat at Moyer’s Corner Cafe. He also rewarded Shelby Martin with a crisp $100 bill.
This was an opportunity for students to apply their art knowledge and skills in a real-life setting while participating in the community. Whitko High School’s art teacher, Daniel Malicki, said he was pleased with his students’ effort and success.
