Norman D. Johnson — UPDATED
Norman D. “Norm” Johnson, 88, Warsaw, passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016, at his residence. He was born on May 6, 1928 in New Philadelphia, Ohio to Delbert and Lula (Rufener) Johnson.
He graduated in 1946 from Sardis High School in Sardis, Ohio and was married on July 2, 1949 in New Matamoras, Ohio to Nina Beryl Ring who preceded him on Oct. 31, 2011. He retired from Conflo Manufacturing Inc., in Wadsworth, Ohio as a machinist and formerly worked as a farmer. He moved to Warsaw four years ago from New Matamoras, Ohio to be near his son and daughter in law.
He attended the Winona Grace Brethren Church in Winona Lake and Greenbrier United Methodist Church in New Matamoras, Ohio, and was a former member of Rittman Grace Brethren Church in Rittman, Ohio.
He is survived by his son: Darrell (Janet) Johnson, Warsaw; a grandson: Timothy Scott Johnson, Fort Wayne; a brother: Jerry Johnson, Lakeland, Fla.; and 18 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother: Alvin Johnson; and sister: Ruth Nething.
Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, May 25, in the Ring Cemetery in New, Matamoras, Ohio. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw is in charge of arrangements.
