Hoosiers Invited To Design Indiana Flag Salute
INDIANA — The Indiana Daughters of the American Revolution is holding a bicentennial competition called, “Salute Indiana.” This contest encourages all Indiana residents to show their state pride by submitting a “salute” to the flag. The winning submission will be brought before the Indiana General Assembly for approval.
Indiana DAR hosted a centennial celebration in 1916 with a similar design competition for a state flag. The winning submission from that contest was later designated as the official Indiana state flag in 1955.
