WINONA LAKE — An officially endorsed legacy project, the “Bison-tennial Public Art Project” aims to celebrate Indiana’s rich history in its 200th year. The Town of Winona Lake is excited to announce that a Bison has been delivered to the Town ready to be transformed into Beachy the Bison.
Steve Perry, Joy Lohse and Rick Swaim all serve on the Winona Bison Committee. Perry and Lohse will transform the Winona Lake Bison into Beachy the Bison complete with swim trunks, goggles, flippers and inner tube around his middle. Eventually Beachy will find his way to the Winona Lake Limitless Park where he will oversee the happenings in the park.
The bison public art pieces from all around the State of Indiana will also be highlighted along the Bicentennial Torch Relay route, running from Sept. 9 through Oct. 15, culminating in Indiana’s Statehood Day on Dev. 11.
