Jerome T. Clavers
Jerome T. Clavers, 90, Rochester, and formerly of Chilton, Wis., passed away at 1:55 p.m. Monday, May 16, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver. He moved from Chilton, Wis. to Rochester in 2008.
He was born on Oct. 1, 1925, in Brillion, Wis., the son of Theodore and Caroline (Steinbach) Clavers. On July 28, 1948, in Forest Junction, Wis. He married Florence Wiechman. She preceded him in death on Nov. 11, 2010. He was a World War II veteran serving with the United States Army.
Mr. Clavers had worked as a Distribution Clerk/Estimator for Wisconsin Public Service Corporation for over 40 years. He was a member of the Ebenzer United Church of Christ and the American Legion both of Chilton, Wis. He enjoyed summer band concerts, walking in the park, reading, supporting the Green Bay Packers and was an avid bowler.
Survivors include his children: Robert Clavers, LaCrescent, Min.; Susan (Clavers) Garman, Rochester; grandchildren: Brian (Kristie) Garman, Huntington; Michael (girlfriend Carrie Teller) Winder, Ga.; Sandra (Michael) Hoffarth, Rochester; great-grandchildren: Galan and Liam Dishner, Huntington; Huntington; MaKenzie Garman, Huntington; Christopher Isaac Garman, West Lafayette; sister: Lorraine (Clavers) Giese, Brillion, Wis. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother; Francis Clavers; and son-in-law: William Garman.
A memorial service will take place at a later date in Chilton, Wis. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Chilton, Wis. Arrangements by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester.
