A. John Dierickx, 93, residing in South Bend, passed away at 10:52 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. John worked for Studebaker Corporation for 24 years, then with Sibley Machine and Foundry for years 20 years. At the age of 82, John retired from Pony Express Courier where he worked in security for several years.
John was born on March 8, 1923, in South Bend, to Joseph and Marie (Jones) Dierickx. On June 23, 1945, in Verviers, Belgium, John was united in marriage to Julia B. Delcomminette Dierickx.
Along with his loving wife: Julia; he is survived by his daughter: Anne Marie Eisenhart, Mishawaka; his son: John (Lois) Dierickx, Niles; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Mary Theresa Elsen, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Bonnie Ann (Robert) Kissel, Leesburg. His three brothers: Phil; Joe; and Dick; all preceded in death.
John served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of VFW Post #303 and a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
As John requested there will be no services held. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend is assisting the family with arrangements.
