Warsaw Softball: Raiders Rollin’
WARSAW – Errors was extremely costly for Warsaw Friday night in a 12-1 loss to Northridge in Northern Lakes Conference softball.
Four errors in the second inning allowed five Raider runs to score. Kaitlyn Kennedy also drew a bases loaded walk and Meghan Bontrager cracked a run-scoring single in the eight-run inning for the visitors. Warsaw committed five errors overall in the game.
Kennedy would later add a two-run single and Bailey O’Dell added a two-run double as Northridge moved to 12-6 overall and 8-4 in the NLC. Allison Hostetler got the win, holding Warsaw to just three hits.
Warsaw pushed its only run across in the fourth. Grace Johnson singled and picked up a stolen base, then came home on a Lauren Shaffner single. Johnson had Warsaw’s other hit.
Johnson took the loss, giving up all 12 Northridge runs.
Warsaw sits at 5-16 overall and 5-7 in the NLC. Warsaw will host its home tournament Saturday, facing Peru in game one with Homestead and Concordia play on the JV field. The two winner will meet for the title game, the two losers playing the consolation.
