Corey L. Graham
Corey L. Graham, 45, Elkhart, formerly of New Paris, died Thursday morning, May 12, 2016, at Golden Living Center, Elkhart. He was diagnosed with Pick’s disease in 2007 and spent the last five years at the Richmond State Hospital before being transferred closer to family earlier in May.
He was born July 24, 1970 in Gibson City, Ill. to Douglas and Judy (Overmyer) Graham.
He is survived by his father and step-mother: Nancy of New Paris; his former wife: Kimberly (Shoue) Decker of LaPorte; three sons: Nathan, Neiman and Niles Graham, all of LaPorte; two brothers: Andrew (Marti) Graham of Seattle; and Blake (Monica) Graham of Fort Worth, Texas; a step-sister: Melissa (Phil) Dowty of Goshen; and three step-brothers: David (Marla) Snider, and Scott (Peggy) Snider, both of New Paris; and Troy (Sandy) Snider of Milford.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Judy in 1986.
An accomplished drummer, he played for Dekalb Central High School and Brenneman Memorial Missionary Church. He was also active in the Club Olympia swim club in Fort Wayne, specializing in the butterfly stroke.
Corey received his physics degree from Purdue University and worked for Graham Engineering prior to becoming ill. He was a member of the Nappanee Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 14, from 1 p.m. until the 2:30 p.m. memorial service at Nappanee Missionary Church, 70417 St. Rd. 19. Reverends Norm Reimer and Jason Rohde will officiate.
Cremation will take place at Yoder-Culp Crematory.
