Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
2:49 p.m. Thursday, May 12, Souht SR 25 west of West CR 250S, Warsaw. Driver: Lonnie J. Dillon, 18, North Tucker Street, Mentone. Dillon swerved his vehicle to miss a deer and the vehicle went off the road, striking a tree. Damage up to $10,000.
9:44 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 1102 N. Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Darrell D. Drudge, 73, North Beechwood Street, Warsaw. As Drudge exited his parked vehicle, it rolled and collided with a nearby delivery truck. Damage up to $2,500.
8:19 a.m. Thursday, May 12, North SR 15 north of West Levi Lee Road, Leesburg. Drivers: Nastassja A. Phillips, 18, South Washington Street, Warsaw, and Rusty L. Jefferson, 37, East Market Street, Warsaw. Phillips’s vehicle crossed center and collided with Jefferson’s and went off the road. Phillips was taken to Parkview Hospital, Warsaw, with complaints of neck and back pain. Jefferson was also taken to Parkview, Warsaw, with complaints of neck and back pain. Witnesses stated Phillips was driving erratically, as if drowsy. Damage up to $25,000.
7:31 a.m. Thursday, May 12, South SR 15 and South Old Road 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Thomas J. Neata, 30, Blue Spruce Road, Warsaw, and Michael A. Harstine, 48, Southfield Road, Warsaw. For unknown reasons, Neata’s vehicle ran into the side of Harstine’s vehicle. Two witnesses stated Neata had been driving erratically, as if sleepy or impaired. Damage up to $10,000.
6:02 a.m. Thursday, May 12, South SR 19 south of West CR 500S, Mentone. Driver: Randy D. Miller, 45, East CR 100N, Akron. Miller’s vehicle collided with a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
1:16 a.m. Thursday, May 12, North CR 800W south of West CR 640N, Etna Green. Driver: Connie A. Sterling, 46, Brooks Drive, Nappanee. Sterling’s vehicle collided with a deer. Damage up to $10,000.
2:23 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, North SR 15 north of West CR 1350N, Milford. Drivers: Myron R. Glick, 24, West CR 100N, LaGrange, and Wayne M. Hall, 46, North CR 325E, North Manchester. Glick’s vehicle hit a bump, loosening a long, steel rod in the trailer he was pulling. Hall’s vehicle hit the steel rod, causing undercarriage damage and a flat tire. Damage up to $2,500.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
8:48 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, North Warner Road south of East CR 1300N, Syracuse. Driver: Drew J. Sims, 19, East Excalibur Place, Cromwell. Sims lost control of his vehicle and it crossed center, leaving the road, striking a utility pole and stopping in a ditch. Sims was issued a verbal warning for driving without insurance. Damage up to $5,000.
