Raydeen V. Miller Howe
Raydeen V. Miller Howe, 94, Columbia City, died at 6:47 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at North Ridge Village, Albion, where she had been a resident for the past five days.
She was born May 1, 1922, in Fort Wayne, the only child of the late Raymond and Jenny Mae (Bruner) Vordemark. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne and graduated from North Side High School. She furthered her education at International Business College in Fort Wayne with a two year degree.
In June of 1943, she was united in marriage to George N. Miller. They made their home in Fort Wayne. Mr. Miller died in 1979. On June 30, 1985, she married Thorson Howe. They made their home at Tri-Lakes, Columbia City. He died in 2010. For 35 years, she worked in the administration office of the Fort Wayne Public Schools.
She was a former member of the Eastern Star, Fort Wayne. She enjoyed crafting and built a Victorian doll house with her husband, Thorson.
Surviving relatives include a son: Terry (Susan) Miller, Columbia City; a daughter: Peggy Kunkle, Bradenton, Fla.; a stepson: Frank (Barbara) Howe, Berne; a stepdaughter: Sharon Thomas, Bluffton; a granddaughter: Jackie Miller, Fort Wayne; a grandson: Adrian (Casey) Miller, Columbia City; and three great-grandchildren.
A private chapel service will be held at Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Arrangements are by Smith and Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
