Gary Warren Heath
Gary Warren Heath, 67, Huntington, died at 12:33 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born Dec. 29, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Warren and Betty (Colyer) Heath.
Gary was a 1966 graduate of Southwood High School and received his bachelors degree from Ball State University. He was a US Marine Corp Veteran and served 13 months in Vietnam. He married Delores “Ann” Cox in Huntington, in May of 2007. Gary was the former President of Spiece Inc., owned Denim Express in Marion, and was a former life insurance salesman. Gary was a member of the Huntington American Legion Post 85 and the Wounded Warrior Project. He was an avid outdoorsman, bow hunter, fisherman, golfer, history buff, and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events. He lived most of his life in LaFontaine, and the past 20 years in Huntington.
He is survived by his wife: Delores ‘Ann’ Heath, Huntington; two children: Steve (Lori) Heath, LaFontaine; Lora (Chris) Cartwright, Andrews; three stepchildren: Adam (Melissa) Brock, Marion; Elizabeth (Brandon) Blake, Anderson; and Steven McDaniel, Berne; four grandchildren: Cash Cartwright, Andrews; Haley Heath; Taylor Heath; and Carson Heath, all of LaFontaine; ten step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Wayne (Jean Ann) Heath; and David (Diana) Heath, both of LaFontaine. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother: Billy Gene Heath.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Home, Wabash, with Brad Wright officiating. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 12, at the funeral home.
