Grace Softball Trio Honored By Crossroads League
WINONA LAKE – Three Lady Lancers were honored in the postseason Crossroads League awards.
Clarissa Knight and Chandler Elliott were named to the All-League Team, and Kyleigh Garner was given honorable mention status for All-League.
Knight led Grace in many offensive categories during her junior season. She hit .454, scored 47 runs, notched 79 hits with 7 doubles, 6 triples and 2 home runs. She drove in 37 runs and had a slugging percentage of .598. Additionally, she stole 10 bases in 12 tries.
Elliott hit .384 with 68 hits, 12 doubles and 24 runs. She recorded a team-leading 41 RBIs. She also earned 12 wins from the mound, posting a 4.44 ERA in 131 innings of work.
Garner impressed as a freshman, tallying 46 hits, 19 runs and 28 RBIs. She tied for the team lead with 12 doubles and had a slugging percentage of .531.
The Lady Lancers are in pursuit of their third-straight NCCAA World Series under head coach Heather Johnson. Grace will tackle the NCCAA Midwest Regionals on Monday to hopefully qualify for the World Series. The tournament, including Indiana Wesleyan and Oakland City, will be held at IWU on Monday and Tuesday.
