Tolly ‘Ted’ Vaughn
Tolly “Ted” Delwood Vaughn Sr. 79, of Rochester, was surrounded by his family when he passed away at 8:55 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Autumn Ridge Rehab of Wabash.
On Oct. 9, 1936, Ted was born in Wilson Ariz. He was a treasured son of Orville and Maude Cannon Vaughn. Growing up he shared his childhood with five sisters and seven brothers.
Proud to answer the call of patriotism, Tolly served in the U.S. Navy for eight years.
Ted and Carol Rigney were married on Dec. 11, 1970, in Salina, Kan. They shared 45 years of life’s adventures.
A dedicated employee of the Fulton County Highway Department, Ted retired after many years of service. He was a member of the Manitou V.F.W. Post No 1343.
Left to cherish Ted’s memory are his wife, Carol; two daughters: Tammy Wood and Mark of Rochester; Tina Barnett and husband Kris of Rochester; a son: Tolly Vaughn Jr. and wife Cindy of Partridge, Kan.; four grandsons: Josh Vaughn, J.D. Showley and wife Morgan, Brantlyn Showley and wife Janet, Blayne Hammel and wife Aleesha; three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Carol MacIntosh and husband Larry of Harrisburg, Ariz.; Linda Dawson, of Osceola, Ariz.; two brothers: J.E. Vaughn and wife Glenda of Rochester; Billy V. Vaughn and wife Nadine “Dean” of Wilson, Ariz., and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ted in death are his parents.
Private family services will be observed. Good Family Funeral Home of Rochester is assisting the family.
