Grace College Baseball: Trio Honored By League
WINONA LAKE – Three Grace College baseball players earned mentioned in the postseason Crossroads League awards.
Frank Rocchio, Logan Grigsby and Blake Converset were named honorable mention for the All-League Team.
Grigsby and Converset produced one of the more talented 1-2 pitching duos in the league. Grigsby finished with a 6-5 record from the mound, tossing four complete games. He posted a 3.00 ERA and held opponents to a .209 average.
Converset earned a team-best seven wins. He tossed six complete games in 77 innings and had a 3.97 ERA.
Rocchio, last year’s league batting champ, missed the final 23 games of the season due to an injury. He still managed to lead Grace’s team in batting average (.291), doubles (8) and RBIs (22) and had the highest slugging percentage (.506) on the team by over .180 points.
The Bill Barr-coached Lancers reached the 20-win plateau for the third time in program history in 2016. Grace’s 20 wins represented the third-highest single-season total in the team’s 57-year history.
