Human Remains Found In Elkhart County
BRISTOL — The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after human remains were found in Bristol.
A person was searching for mushrooms in a field along County Road 27 Tuesday night.
The Elkhart County Coroner’s Office and a special anthropologist team are trying to identify the remains.
The Sheriff’s Department is also trying to find a cause of death.
They have not said if the death was suspicious. Read the full release below:
On Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at approximately 7:01 p.m., the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of human remains that were found by a subject who was searching for mushrooms in a field in the 55000 block of CR 27.
With the assistance of the Elkhart County Coroner’s Office and a special anthropologist team, the human remains, which have yet to be identified, were recovered.
The investigation is on-going and the Sheriff’s Department is working with the Elkhart County Coroner’s office to determine the cause of death and identification of the person.
