Squires Down Wildcats
The Whitko tennis team fell 4-1 Tuesday night at the hands of Manchester.
Morgan Keirn fought back after losing her first set, winning the next two, to get Whitko’s lone court victory at No. 1 singles.
The Lady Wildcats will be back in action tomorrow night to complete their previously started match against Tippecanoe Valley.
Whitko Nine Crushes Southern Wells
The Whitko baseball team enjoyed a 13-4 win over Southern Wells Tuesday night.
The Wildcats used 10 hits to help get the victory and were led by Tanner Gaff at the plate. Gaff was 2-2 with two runs, two RBIs, a double and a stolen base. Four other Wildcats has two hits a piece.
River West got the win on the mound.
Whitko (11-4) plays at Manchester on Monday.
Softball Team Continues To Roll
Whitko’s softball team earned a 7-4 triumph over Northfield. Andrea Snavely and Tori Silveus combined on the mound for the win for the Wildcats. Hanna Yohe had a triple, a double, and a single. Kennedy Krull had a home run, a perfect way to grab attention for her Salvation Army/KYLA fundraiser being held during Whitko’s game at Manchester Wednesday night.
Whitko is now 10-2 on the season.
Golfers Split
The Whitko golf team split its triangular meet with Northfield and Manchester.The Wildcats shot a 183 to best Manchester’s 187 but were not low enough to beat Northfield’s 154.
Grady Clingerman led Whitko with a 42. Cade Bechtold (45), Tim Gensch (46) and Kaleb Busz (50) rounded out the scores for the Wildcats.
Whitko will participate in the Cole Invitational hosted by Northfield at Honeywell this Saturday.
