Triton Softball: Knox On Point In Dime
KNOX – A pair of big innings helped Knox to a lopsided softball game Wednesday, going 12-2 over Triton.
Libby McEntee, McKenzie McIntire and Sarah Shephard all had two hits and two RBIs for the Redskins, and combined to score four runs. Shephard doubled twice and McEntee and McIntire both added a double each. Mikayla Shidler trotted across home plate three times in the win.
WIth the exception of a Megan Berger home run, Triton’s offense was stagnant. The Trojans managed just three hits all night, and went 0-9 with a walk in its one through four hitters. McIntire had a lot to do with it, striking out five in the five-inning complete game.
Nicole Sechrist got a rare start in the circle for Triton, making her first appearance of the season. The everyday shortstop allowed all 12 runs on eight hits and six walks.
Triton (5-5) visits Bremen Thursday.
