Concord Uses Big Inning To Get Win
The Wawasee baseball team was back in action Monday night as it traveled to take on Concord. The Minutemen hung six runs on the board in the third inning to help earn a 7-2 win.
Jacob Garcia took the loss for Wawasee after six innings of work. Garcia struck out four Minutemen batters. Wawasee was offensively by Chase Rookstool and Jamie Slabaugh who each had two hits and an RBI.
Wawasee (4-11-1, 1-6) hosts county rival Warsaw Wednesday.
Ladies Get Victory On Court
The Wawasee girls tennis team enjoyed another victory Monday evening. The Lady Warriors downed West Noble 3-2 to earn their third win of the season.
Charity Parker and Kabrea Rostochak picked up a win on the No. 1 doubled court 6-3, 6-4 while Courtney Larson and Kendra Doerr got the win at No. 2 doubles 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
Meg Heinisch won the deciding match on the No. 3 singles court with a 7-6, 2-6, 6-1 win over Megan Godfrey.
Wawasee coach Shane Staley offered this quote, “Great work by our doubles teams and by Meg to secure the win tonight.”
Wawasee’s JV won 6-3.
Wawasee (3-6) hosts Elkhart Memorial Tuesday night.
