Howard James Lease
Howard James Lease 85, Rochester, passed away at 7:47 a.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Life Care Center, Rochester.
He was born Dec. 17, 1930, in Kewanna, the son of Herrold J. and Alida (Babcock) Lease. Feb. 27, 1954, in Manchester, England, he married Joan Elizabeth Taylor and she survives.
Mr. Lease had worked for many years as a mechanic and had also done typewriter repair work. He served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War and had been a member of the Kiwanis Club, Experimental Aircraft Association and the RAF Burtonwood Association. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, anything associated with aviation and working on mechanical projects.
Survivors include his wife, Joan E. Lease, Rochester; children: Warren (Gloria) Lease, Rochester, Jeff (Colleen) Lease, West Lafayette, and Matt (Debbie) Lease, Rochester; grandchildren: Mike (Tara) Lease, Rochester, Brad (Cassie) Lease, Lafayette, Stacey (Dustin) Reamer, Rochester, Lindsey (Mathew) Thomas, Jupiter, Fla., Mikki Lease (fiance’ David Ginsburg), St. Louis, Mo., Nichole (Nathan) Foxworth, Rochester, Garrick (Denay) Lease, Rochester, Denae’ Lease, Rochester, Kassie (Devon) McCane, Rochester, and Jeremy (Becky) Zeiger, Rochester; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Lease and great-granddaughter, Aylee Foxworth.
Private services will be observed. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers’ Association or the Salvation Army. Arrangements are by Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester.
