Harold Stoffel
Harold Stoffel, 91, Syracuse, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at his home.
He was born March 16, 1925, in Huntington to Frank and Mary (Gill) Stoffel. Sept. 30, 1950, he married Maxine Carl, who preceded him in 1991. He operated the North Webster lumber yard and was a longtime farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a longtime member of the St. Martin DePorres Catholic church. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Post 253.
He is survived by his seven children: Cindy (John) Hollister, Larry (Cathy) Stoffel, Frank (Brenda) Stoffel, Diane Rucker, John (Dale) Stoffel, Dave (Cathy) Stoffel and Angie (Dave) Wall; 20 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, May 2, at Eastlund Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7:30. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, at St. Martin’s DePorres Catholic church, Syracuse, with Father Richard Hire officiating. Burial will follow at North Webster cemetery/Mock addition with military rites performed by the North Webster American Legion.
