Woman Injured After Car Hits House
NAPPANEE — Amy Jo Brookins, 25, 21520 US 6, Nappanee, was taken to IU Health Goshen, for injuries after a vehicle struck her home. The accident occurred at 4:55 p.m. Thursday, April 28.
Brookins suffered scratches and abrasions and complained of pain. The driver of the vehicle, Scott A. Miller, 52, Nappanee, was also transported to IU Health Goshen. He suffered a swollen right eye and complained of pain.
Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department reports Miller was westbound in a 2004 Kia when the vehicle left the roadway and collided with the Brookins home. Miller told police he passed out and awoke after his vehicle came to rest in the living room. Brookins was knocked to the floor and hit with debris in the collision.
