Ruth E. Rohrer
Ruth E. Rohrer, 87, Goshen died Wednesday evening, April 27, 2016, at The Maples at Waterford Crossing where she had recently been admitted.
She was born Dec. 26, 1928, in Bremen to Jesse and Amelia (Berger) Bollenbacher. On Feb. 5, 1949, she married Berlin J. Rohrer. He died Oct. 17, 2006.
Survivors include twin daughters: Judy (Norris) Stump, Cromwell; Joyce (Michael) Minnich, Goshen; two sons: Randy (Sharon) Rohrer, Ligonier; and Mark (Brenda) Rohrer, Goshen; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister: Evelyn Leeper; and a brother: Lester Bollenbacher, both of Bremen. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister: Bernice Myers; and three brothers: Clarence; Norman; and Louis Bollenbacher.
Mrs. Rohrer was a 1946 graduate of Bremen High School and past member of the Home Economics Club and Maplecrest Country Club, where she and her husband enjoyed golfing. She was an avid bowler, winning a state championship in singles.
A member at Faith Lutheran Church, she and her husband Berlin enjoyed wintering in the Bradenton/Sarasota area of Florida for 30 years. Ruth enjoyed gardening and loved being a grandma and spending time with her grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, with the funeral service beginning at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 202 S. Greene Road, Goshen. Pastor John Hickey will officiate. Burial will follow at Violett Cemetery, Goshen. Yoder-Culp Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
