AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley softball team will play host to its own invitational on Saturday.
The host Vikings are slated to play Fort Wayne Concordia in the opening game of the four-team event at 9 a.m. Valley sports a 6-9 season mark, while Concordia sits at 8-6 prior to a game versus Leo today (April 28).
The second game, scheduled for 11 a.m., pits a surging Whitko squad versus Northwestern. Coach Michelle Garr’s Wildcats are 9-2 on the season after a 14-2 win over Three Rivers Conference foe Southwood on Wednesday night. Whitko has won five of its last six games, including a 21-0 TRC win at Valley on April 25. The Wildcats two losses this season are to Carroll and Rochester. Northwestern is 5-6 prior to a contest with Peru today (April 28).
The consolation game for the tourney is slated for approximately 12:30 p.m. The championship contest is slated to begin at approximately 3 p.m.
Admission for the invitational is $5 per person with those in pre-school and younger admitted for free.
