Warsaw Hosts Ride Indiana Team
WARSAW – After a successful 2014 event, raising more than $25,000 to support Hoosier military families, Ride Indiana returns in 2016, and is riding through Warsaw.
Ride Indiana is a four-day, 300-plus mile bicycling journey across the State of Indiana, led by wounded heroes and passionate cyclists, to raise funds to assist Hoosier military families. The ride commences in Bloomington, Indiana on April 28, and will finish at Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis on May 1. The ride consists of active-duty military, veterans, civilians, and anyone who desires to raise funds for local military families. Funds are raised through individual fundraising by each rider, corporate and individual sponsorships, Ride Indiana gear sales, and local fundraisers conducted throughout the ride.
On Friday, April 29, at 6 p.m., the team will arrive at Susie’s Sand Bar and Grill in Warsaw for dinner, a fundraiser, and a meet-and-greet with the local community. The entire Warsaw community is encouraged to join the 2016 Ride Indiana team in supporting Hoosier military families. On Saturday, the team will meet with Mayor Joe Thallemer and local police and bicyclists for photos at Owens East before departing town. Local bicyclists are encouraged to join the Ride Indiana team for a portion of the ride south towards Indianapolis.
