Symphony Of The Lakes Presents ‘Around the World’ Concert
WARSAW — The Symphony of the Lakes, the professional orchestra branch of Wagon Wheel Center for the Arts, will present its 2016 spring concert, “Around the World,” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, at Winona Heritage Room.
The concert will feature a special performance by Peter Rutkowski, winner of the 2016 Young Artist Competition. Rutkowski will perform “Concerto No. 3 in C Major, Op. 26” by Sergei Prokofiev on piano.
Other pieces will include “The Lord of the Dance” by Ronan Hardiman, “On the Beautiful Danube Waltzes Op. 34” by Johann Strauss Jr., and “Dusk” by Stephen Bryant. After intermission, Conductor Thomas Stirling will lead the orchestra in “Symphony No. 9 in E Minor, Op. 95 ‘From the New World’” by Antonin Dvorak.
The April 30 concert will also mark the announcement of the upcoming 2016-17 season entitled “Colors of the Orchestra.” Attendees will be the given a brochure with detailed information, as well as the opportunity to purchase a subscription for the upcoming season.
