Fred J. Helton
Fred was born on Oct. 17, 1945 at Prestonsburg, Ky. He was the son of Johnnie and Myrtle (Hale) Helton. He was married to Lorena Johnson on October 23, 1964 in Silver Lake; who survives.
He was a resident of Kosciusko County for the past 54 years and had been employed at Dalton Foundry for 46 years as a Supervisor. Fred attended the First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, he was a member of the Kosciusko Skeet Club and the Quarter Horse Association. Fred had a real passion for Nascar and the Kentucky Wildcats.
Besides his wife Lorena, Fred will be lovingly remembered by his family, which includes two sons: James (wife Shelley) Helton (Warsaw) and Steven L. (companion Alicia) Helton (Syracuse). Also surviving are four grandchildren: Joselyn and Matthew Helton, Spencer and Austin Davidson. One Brother: Don (wife Janet) Helton (Silver Lake) Two sisters: Emma Slone (Silver Lake) and Elsie Dotson (Prestonsburg, Ky.).
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday April 24, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 25, at the First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, Pastor Terry Bradford will officiate. Interment will be made at the Lake View Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Memorial donations may be made in Fred’s memory to the First Freewill Baptist Church of Kosciusko County Youth Group , P.O. Box 43, Claypool, IN 46510 and would be appreciated by the family.
