WARSAW — A Warsaw resident has been ordered not to have contact with his wife after allegedly battering her in front of the couple’s two children.

Billy J. Truex, 32, 1650 E. Smith St., Warsaw, was arrested Sunday, April 17, on a warrant for domestic battery with a child under 16, a level 6 felony, and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.

Court documents state at approximately 11:33 a.m. Friday, March 25, officers with the Warsaw Police Department received a call pertaining to a domestic battery. They arrived at the home of Billy J. Truex, 32, 503 W. Center St., Warsaw.

Officers spoke with Truex’s wife, who claimed she and Truex were in an argument when he grabbed her by the waist and forced her against the wall. She told police he also pushed her down and pinned her to the bathroom floor. The couple’s two children, both under age 16, were present while this was taking place.

He is being held on $5,000 surety and $250 cash bond.
