SILVER LAKE — A little idea from a Warsaw native is coming to fruition this summer. Andrew Morris, a Warsaw Community High School graduate and Fulbright recipient, is organizing a community folk festival at the Wildwood Nature Preserve in Silver Lake Saturday, May 21.
Named after General Thaddeus Kosciusko, General Thad’s Folk Fest will bring together some of Northern Indiana’s finest musicians, poets and artists in a celebration of culture and community.
Bands and artists will include:
- The Matchsellers (Bluegrass)
- Steve Henn (Poet)
- Rebekah Kolbe (Artist)
- The Jug Huffers (Jug Band)
- The Goats’ Beards (Roots)
- Stephanie Jones (Artist)
This all-ages event will have some food, hiking and refreshments. Attendants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, bug spray, food, drinks and a small donation.
