Tippecanoe Valley Softball: Plymouth Pulls Huge Rally
PLYMOUTH – A huge inning cost Tippecanoe Valley’s softball team Friday night. Plymouth put together an eight-run sixth inning to stun Valley, leading to an eventual 12-9 final.
Valley held an 8-4 lead going into the bottom of the sixth, but Plymouth built the snowman to completely turn the tide.
Abby Betten and Kayla Scott had big days at the dish, combining for six hits and three RBIs. Katie Prater and Amanda Shepherd added two RBIs apiece.
Katie Gunter was in line for the win, working 4.1 innings and giving up four runs. But the Pilgrims got to reliever Sydney Howard, touching up the hurler for eight hits and eight runs.
Tippecanoe Valley falls to 2-3 on the season, looking to bounce back with a doubleheader Saturday at John Glenn.
