New Lincoln Building Progressing
Editor’s Note: This is part two of a three-part series briefly recapping progress on each of the three Warsaw schools under construction.
WARSAW — While the construction site at Lincoln Elementary School, Warsaw, does not look like much at this time, passersby will soon notice framework for the new building beginning to go up.
Representatives of the design build team gave a presentation to the Warsaw Community School Board during its regular work session Tuesday, April 12. Progress within the last 30 days has included completion of concrete footings, completion of block foundation walls, continuation of the under-slab utilities and coordination with site utilities and completion of the concrete elevator pit. Structural steel has also begun to arrive and staging has begun for its installation.
Framework for the gym and stage area is already up and boundaries of classrooms and hallways are now discernable. The majority of the structural steel is expected to be up in the next 30 days. Work on the sanitary line along the north edge of the site and rough-ins for under-slab plumbing will be completed.
Joist and deck installation is also set to take place and prep for concrete slabs will begin.
