Triton Baseball: Lancers Walk Off Winners
LAKEVILLE – LaVille plated a run in the bottom of the eighth inning to settle matters in a 9-8 baseball win against Triton Tuesday afternoon.
LaVille, which led 5-0 heading into the fifth, gave up five runs to the Trojans before scoring two to reclaim the lead in the bottom half of the fifth. Triton responded with three in the six, with the Lancers equalizing in the bottom of the sixth.
Zac Pitney led the Trojan attack with three hits – including a double – three RBIs and two runs scored. Dylan Hensley added a pair of hits and an RBI and the duo of Max Slusser and Keygan Mosier each scored twice.
Five Lancers had a pair of hits, led by doubles from Adam Steinke, Jacob Fogle and Anthony Phegley. Nick Felke and Parker Horvath also had two hits. Steinke led the Lancers with two RBIs.
Pitney took the loss for the Trojans on the mound, where his 3.1 innings of relief yielded eight hits and four runs allowed. Phegley got the win in relief for LaVille.
Triton (0-2) and LaVille will meet again this afternoon in Bourbon.
