State Police Investigate Fatal Crash Involving Bremen Women
MARSHALL COUNTY — The Indiana State Police are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, April 13. Troopers were dispatched to the area of 9B Road, just east of Gumwood Road in rural Marshall County.
Troopers arrived at the scene to find a 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis upside down in a water filled ditch. The driver of the car, 57 year-old Carolyn L. Dill of Bremen was found still seat belted in the car deceased.
The initial investigation revealed the eastbound car left the north side of 9B Road and traveled down an earth embankment before flipping over onto its roof and coming to a rest in a ditch.
At this time it is unknown what caused Dill drive her car off the road. There was nothing found at the scene to indicate a reason why she left the roadway, commented Trooper Rodd Schuh.
The crash and the cause of death remain under investigation by the state police. An autopsy was scheduled by the Marshall County Coroner for late Wednesday afternoon.
