Brower, Secrest Arranging ‘Hoops For Haiti’ Event
WARSAW — Two Tippecanoe Valley students are setting up a 3-on-3 tournament for a good cause.
Anne Secrest and Hannah Brower are arranging the basketball tournament, dubbed “Hoops for Haiti”, to raise money for two charities in the Carribean country. The tournament will satisfy a requirement for “Project Proud” which both must complete as members of the Kosciusko Youth Leadership Academy.
The tournament will be held at Baker Youth Club in Warsaw on April 30. Teams can preregister for $40 or register the day of the tournament from 8-9 a.m. for $50. Teams are allowed a max of four players. There are four divisions: fifth and sixth grade, seventh and eighth grade, high school and adult/open. Teams can play up a division if they so choose.
Funds raised will go to both the St. Nicholas Church in Kenscoff and the Nehemiah Vision Ministries clinic.
