Ribbon Cut For New Parkview ER
WARSAW — Parkview Health System’s new Warsaw location celebrated yet another milestone Wednesday afternoon, April 13, when the ribbon was cut to signify the opening of the new emergency room.
The ER officially opens at 7 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, April 14.
Hospital representatives, employees and town dignitaries gathered under a clear, blue sky to cut the Parkview-green ribbon.
“This is our DNA to come into a community and be able to serve to the best of our ability,” CEO Mike Packnett said said.
Besides ER services, the two-story, 86,000-foot Parkview Warsaw facility offers an outpatient laboratory, diagnostic imaging that includes X-rays, CT scans and ultrasounds, outpatient rehabilitation services, family practice physicians and services and specialty physicians and services.
These services have come available over the last few months, with physicans’ offices opening in January and outpatient services starting Feb. 24. Opening the ER is the final step to creating a fully-functioning medical complex.
“It’s wonderful to be at this point,” Parkview President Scott Gabriel said. “We’ve been in planning phases for years and building phases for over a year. We’re just excited to be part of this community. The way the community has embraced this, it’s just exciting.”
Parkview Warsaw is expected to bring more than 100 jobs to the community. Rob Parker, director of the Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce, expressed excitement at having the new facility in Warsaw.
“The opposite of growth is decline, but we love to see growth,” he said. “We’re pleased to have a company that has the same values and vision we do in this community. Scott’s been great to work with. He gets engaged and helps out in any way he can.”
Parkview Warsaw is next to the Parkview Warsaw YMCA, which includes the Parkview Center for Healthy Living.
