Walter Winch Jr.
Walter Winch Jr., 63, Ocala, Fla., formerly of Hamilton and Warsaw, passed away of congestive heart failure April 5, 2016.
He was born Aug. 27, 1952, in Dixon, Ill.
He graduated from Polo High School in 1971. He went to college in Des Moines, Iowa, at United Electronic Technician School. He graduated in May 1973.
He went over-the-road-truck driving in 1977, where he recently retired in 2014. One of his big frustrations over the road was very seldom getting home on his 36 hour restart. He loved his family very much. He was looking forward to spending his retirement years with Diane being a snowbird from Indiana to Florida. He had many interests: woodworking, leather art, mechanics, farming and trackers scuba diving. He was a member of the Space Creek Military Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Nancy (and spouse Ron); three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Lee (and spouse Connie); a niece; two nephews; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; three stepbrothers and family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; father, Walter; stepfather, Paul; and a baby brother, Melvin.
He will be dearly missed by friends, family and loved ones. This includes three dogs, Bogic, Pebble and Phil Mickelson.
He will be cremated and there will be a remembrance ceremony at Wildwinds Buffalo Ranch, Fremont.
A Cremation Affordable Alternative, Gainesville, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.
