Dolores Maxine Smith
Dolores Maxine Smith, 89, Westland, Mich., formerly of Warsaw, died at 9:05 a.m. March 30, 2016.
She was born Aug. 12, 1926, in Warsaw, to Edwin and Rosa Clabaugh Latta. On Nov. 17, 1945, she was united in matrimony to Ormond Warren Smith, Atwood, who died Nov. 4, 1988.
Prior to her retirement, she worked for the Social Security Administration for 25 years. She enjoyed researching her genealogy, and put that knowledge to wonderful use at the Westland Historical Museum for many years.
She also enjoyed crocheting and knitting, as well as traveling and had many stories to pass on. But her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Suriving are a son: Steven (Lisa) Smith; two grandchildren: Erica (Scott) Palmer; Richard (Andreana) Smith; two great-grandchildren: Henry and Katherine Palmer; a sister: Phyllis (Wallace) Kirkendall, Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Wilmer (June) Latta, Kerens, Texas; and a sister: Betty (Bud) Robinson, Leesburg.
She will be laid to rest at Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw.
