Juanita I. Wilkins, 96, of Lakeville, passed away at 4:20 a.m. Sunday, April 3, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Plymouth.
She was born on July 25, 1919 in Wyatt to the late Donald and Marie (Reese) Winrotte. On Jan. 25, 1941, in Plymouth, she was united in marriage to Richard Wilkins who preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1992.
Mrs. Wilkins is survived by her daughter, Jeanie (Fred) Stickovich of Granger; son, Hal (Diana) Wilkins of Plymouth; four grandchildren: Fred (Natasha) Stickovich, Jennifer (David) Ricks, Tiffany (Ryan) Desmond and Nick (Staci) Stickovich; and five great grandchildren: Jacob, Ava, Gavin, Sophia and Zoe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Wilma Martin and Mary Downing and four brothers, Keith, twins Duane and Wayne and Victor Winrotte.
Mrs. Wilkins was a lifelong resident of Plymouth. She was a graduate of Tyner High School. Mrs. Wilkins retired in 1982 from the Union North School Corporation after twenty-one years. She was a member of Lakeville United Methodist Church and a former member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Fireman’s Auxiliary. She was very active in her church, loved her family and enjoyed fishing. A special thanks to Dr. Byron Holm, Miller’s Assisting Living and Miller’s Merry Manor, all of Plymouth for their love, care and compassion of Juanita.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 8, at Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan St. Lakeville. Rev. Brian White will officiate. Graveside services and burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the church and one hour prior to the services Friday at church.
