Battery Charges Filed Against Williamson
SILVER LAKE — A domestic dispute resulted in battery charges after a Silver Lake resident allegedly slammed his girlfriend’s leg in a door repeatedly.
Following the incident, Joseph W. Williamson, 33, 8954 S. CR 425W, Silver Lake, was arrested and charged with battery, domestic battery and domestic battery with a child under age 16 present.
Saturday, Feb. 6, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department arrived at Kosciusko Community Hospital in response to calls about a domestic battery. There, they found the victim, who reported her boyfriend, Williamson, had knocked her to the ground in a doorway, then repeatedly kicked the door, slamming it into her ankle.
The victim added that the couple’s two children and one other witness were present at the time the incident occurred. Officers spoke with the witness, who confirmed the victim’s account. Doctors told police surgery would be required to repair the victim’s ankle, which was broken in three places.
Police arrested Williamson and booked him in the Kosciusko County Jail with bond set at $11,000 surety and cash.
