SYRACUSE — Wawasee head cheer coach Kierstyn Jones has resigned.
“We appreciate the commitment Coach Jones made to our cheer program the past several years,” offered Wawasee AD Steve Wiktorowski in a statement to local media. “She is leaving the program with good numbers and an increased commitment to competition cheer which we hope the next coach will expand upon. We thank Coach Jones for her efforts and wish her nothing but the best in the future.”
The search for a new coach has started and applications are currently being accepted and will continue to be until the position is filled.
The position requires a coach to be in charge of the cheer teams during both football and basketball seasons and for cheer competitions. Previous experience as a coach and cheerleader is preferred. Those interested are asked to send a letter of interest to Wiktorowski at [email protected]
