Kosciusko
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accidents:
9:39 p.m. Sunday, April 3, South CR 450W, north of West CR 525S, Claypool. Drivers: Kyle W. Hamman, 17, West CR 525S, Claypool, and Kaleb Hobbs, 24, South Scott Road, Claypool. Hamman’s 2002 Chevrolet Blazer struck the Hobbs, 1999 Chrysler after it crested a hill and rolled onto the passenger side, catching fire. Hamman and a passenger, Allie A. Thompson, 17, West CR 400N, Warsaw, suffered abrasions to the knee, lower leg/foot area and were taken to a hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
12:08 p.m. Sunday, April 3, North Detroit Street, north of West CR 250N, Warsaw. Driver: Konnie K. Streeter, 72, North CR 225E, Warsaw, and Jessica R. Diaz, 34, South Syacmore Street, Syracuse. Streeter was northbound in the right hand lane and collided with the Diez vehicle when she attempted to merge into the left lane. Damage up to $2,500.
10:43 p.m. Saturday, April 2, Detroit Street and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Stefanie A. Holbrook, 40, West Warren Drive, Warsaw. Holbrook lost control of her vehicle due to ice on the bridge on Detroit Street, sliding into the curb. Damage up to $10,000.
9:39 p.m. Saturday, April 2, Lake City Highway, east of North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Connor D. O’Hara, 16, Ranch Road, Warsaw, and Craig A. Miller, 32, CR 50, Ligonier. O’Hara was westbound on Lake City Highway when his vehicle began sliding from side to side on the overpass, and was struck by the Miller vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
9:29 p.m. Saturday, April 2, Lake City Highway and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Maricela B. Rosales, 19, East Wooster Road, Pierceton, and Kandace I. Terry, 22, North Harris Street, Bourbon. Rosales was westbound on Lake City Highway, approaching overpass, when her reached the bridge area, she began to loose control of her vehicle and struck the guardrail on the south side of the road. Terry was westbound approaching overpass when the Rosales vehicle in front of her began to slide. Terry attempted to stop but she lost control of her vehicle and struck a guardrail. Rosales complained of pain to the neck and Terry complained of pain to the shoulder/upper arm. Both taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
7:51 p.m. Saturday, April 2, East Center Street and South Lincoln Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kenneth A. Biggs, 57, North Grant Street, Warsaw, and Jennifer E. Stotts, 43, Shoreland Court, Columbia City. Biggs’ vehicle struck the back of the Stotts vehicle. Stotts complained of pain to the neck but refused immediate attention. Damage up to $10,000.
12:36 p.m. Saturday, April 2, Commerce Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Phyllis J. Love, 85, South Circle Drive East, Warsaw. Love’s vehicle struck a flat bed trailer parked next to her vehicle. She did not see any damage to the trailer so drove home, at which time damage to her vehicle was found. Damage up to $2,500.
