GeNelle E. Hoffman
GeNelle E. Hoffman, 95, formerly of Akron, passed at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester.
She was born on Oct. 4, 1920, in Akron, to Emmet and Hazel (Merley) Taylor. She married on July 3, 1938, in Akron, to Earl Hoffman who preceded on July 1, 2012. She was a homemaker and former co-owner of Hoffman Body Shop of Akron, where she was bookkeeper. GeNelle was a graduate of Akron High School in 1938. She was a member of the Akron United Methodist Church for 62 years where she served as financial secretary for 30 years. She also was a member of the Sunshine Bunco Club. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughters: Karna (Frank) Earl, Warsaw; Jacqie Hoffman, Carmel; son: Ronald Hoffman, Stuart, Fla.; grandchildren: Todd (Shelly) Hoffman; Corey (Mickey) Hoffman; Lori (Richard) Hine; Lenee (Dan) Coleman; Dustin (Tonya) DuBois; nine great-grandchildren; and JoAnn Craft, Akron, who showed unending love and care. She was preceded in death by parents: Emmet and Hazel Taylor; Son: Larry Hoffman; brothers: Emmet Taylor Jr.; Charles Taylor; sister: Norma Lee Dye.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, April 3, at Hartzler Funeral Home, Akron. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, also at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor David Eaton. Burial will be at Akron Cemetery.
