Ronald ‘Ron’ Jay Reed
Ronald “Ron” Jay Reed passed away at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Miller’s Merry Manor of Warsaw at the age of 70.
He was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, and was a 1964 graduate of Claypool High School. He was the owner of Reed Construction Inc. from 1972-1984, and also Reed Electric Motor Shop in Warsaw. Ron loved engineering homes and buildings, John Deere tractors, putting puzzles together and especially loved the outdoors. He attended Warsaw Community Church.
Ron was born on March 6, 1946, in Claypool, to John Raymond Reed and Betty (Warren) Reed. On Aug. 22, 1965, he was married to Elaine (Rule) Reed, who survives in Warsaw.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son: Scott J. (Julie) Reed, Warsaw; daughter: Jennifer Duncan, Tampa; four grandsons: Trey and Alex Duncan, both of Tampa, Fla.; Grant and Griffin Reed, both of Warsaw; three sisters: Reta (James) Groves, Yellow Creek Lake; Toni (Charles) Coplen, Akron; Merry (John) Tucker, Warsaw; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw. His memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. following visitation and officiated by Don Miller, Ed Habegger, and Don Plank.
