Helen M. Green
Helen M. Green, 90, Findlay, Ohio, formerly of Leadwood, Mo. and Columbia City, passed away at 3:35 p.m. Wednesday March 23, 2016, at Birchaven Retirement Village in Findlay.
Born on Nov. 8, 1925, in Leadington, Mo., she was the daughter of Rev. S.A. and Glenda (Groves) Ferguson. She attended Elvins High School in Elvins, Mo., and graduated with the Class of 1943. On July 1, 1944, Helen married E. Clifton Green. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Bonne Terre Hospital in Bonne Terre, Mo., and Whitley Memorial Hospital for many years.
Helen was a member of the First Church of God in Columbia City and also participated in the Women’s Ministries and Care Groups.
Survivors include her son: Rev. David (Sally) Green, Findlay; grandchildren: Angie (David) Sprouse, Findlay; and Mark (Joanne) Green, Columbia City; great-grandchildren: Tyler Green, Columbia City; Alyssa Haines; Riley Haines; Trinity Sprouse, all of Findlay; sisters: Carol (Nelson) Roach, Bloomfield; Sue (George) Gentry, Mitchell; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Rev. S.S. and Glenda Ferguson; husband: E. Clifton Green; and sisters: Betty Talley and Barbara Malloy.
Funeral services for Helen will be held at 11 a.m. Monday March 28, at DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, Columbia City, with calling one hour prior.
Burial will follow services in Leadwood, Mo. on Tuesday March 29, in Leadwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Helen may be made to the Haitian Scholarship Fund through Churches of God General Conference, Findlay, Ohio.
