Domine Arrested After Failing To Register As Sex Offender
KOSCIUSKO — A Claypool man is being accused of failure to register under sex offender statute, a level 6 felony with a sentence enhancement to a level 5 felony.
Hagen Delbert Dominie, 22, 9752 Pheasant Place, Claypool, was convicted on March 4, 2010 in Clinton County, New York, of criminal sexual act, first degree, forcible compulsion in Clinton County, N.Y. He was ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Kosciusko Superior Court 3 convicted Dominie on Dec. 12, 2014, for failure to register as a sex or violent offender.
Authorities found he continued to fail to register after that conviction. The affidavit of probable cause states on May 18, 2015, he registered his place of residence and that he was unemployed. He submitted a change of address on Jan. 26, 2016, stating he was residing at 9752 S. Pheasant Place, Claypool, but was unemployed.
Several days later Kosciusko County Sheriff Officer Floyd Knafel, went to the Claypool address for a compliance check. An individual at that residence stated Dominie was not home at that time. Knafel went back to the residence on Feb. 17, and spoke to the same individual who reported Dominie had left on Feb. 1, and no longer lived at that residence. Police also learned Dominie was working at Long John Silver’s, Warsaw.
Knafel went to Long John Silver’s and discovered Domine had been working there since Sept. 23, but was terminated on Feb. 7, when he failed to report to work.
He is being held on $10,000 surety and $250 cash bond.
