SYRACUSE — Books for the annual community book read may be picked up at the Syracuse Library. The books are unabridged Edgar Allen Poe stories and poems with notes and commentary to help the modern reader understand Poe’s intentions and his place in the history of literature. The book club, One Book, One Hour, is meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, for a discussion.
The community read, which is sponsored by Kosciusko Literacy Services, has several concurrent contests. The Syracuse Library is helping entrants in the book cover competition to design and submit an entry. Creative brainstorming and supplies will be provided at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 31.
Young adults and adults are offered a chance to receive artist help on an interpretation for a “Great Tales and Poems of Edgar Allen Poe” book cover. Help with submitting and finishing the project will be provided at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 14.
