Bonnie J. Shoemaker
Bonnie J. Shoemaker, 77, rural Claypool, passed at 10:26 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
She was born March 2, 1939, in Kendallville, to Homer and Reba (Olinger) Mortimore. She was married on Nov. 26, 1982, in Rochester, to Paul A. Shoemaker he survives. She had worked in health care and also worked for Hart Schaffner and Marx of Rochester, as well as being a homemaker.
She was a graduate of Kendallville High School in 1956. She attended the Akron Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and wintering in St. Cloud, Fla. with her husband.
She is survived by her husband: Paul Shoemaker, Claypool; son: Mark Marti, Warsaw; daughter: Stacia (Dave) Henry, Orlando; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters: Patricia (Jerry) Febles, Kendallville; Sandra Muscello, Kendallville; brother: Thomas (Carolyn) Mortimore, Kendallville. She was preceded in death by her parents: Homer and Reba Mortimore; sister: Leahmae Palmer; sister-in-law: Laura Shoemaker; brother: Jerry Mortimore.
Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at King Memorial Home, Mentone. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, at King Memorial Home, Mentone. Burial will be at Hamlett Cemetery, Rochester.
