Goshen Home Care and Hospice Seeks Volunteers
GOSHEN — Indiana University Health Goshen Home Care and Hospice seeks volunteers to provide comfort, support, and companionship to hospice patients and their families in Elkhart County, including Goshen, Syracuse, Middlebury, Millersburg and Ligonier.
Volunteers are required to take 18 hours of training, which occurs over the course of six days. Training sessions run from 6-9 p.m. April 12, 14, 19, 21, 26 and from 1-4 p.m. April 28. All meetings will be held in the Oak and Poplar Room in the hospital.
You must attend all six sessions unless prior arrangements are made. During training hospice volunteers will learn about hospice philosophy, communication skills; emotional, spiritual and physical aspects of dying, family dynamics and grief.
