Allen L. ‘Al’ Streby
Allen L. “Al” Streby, 77, of North Webster, passed away at 8:48 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw.
He was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Warsaw, to Hubert L. “Lewis” and Dorothy Gertrude (Burns-McBride) Streby.
He was a lifetime North Webster area resident, graduated in 1958 from North Webster High School and was a United States Army veteran.
He was married on July 31, 1965 in Warsaw, to Kathryn E. Carlin who survives.
He retired in 2003 from Spartech (Uniroyal) in Warsaw after 37 years. He was member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Warsaw and honorary life member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster.
He is survived by his wife: Kathryn Streby of North Webster; daughter: Eunice Gibson of North Webster; two sons: Craig Streby of North Webster; Eric (Gita) Streby of Warsaw; three grandchildren; and three sisters: Nancy (Larry) Swope of North Webster; Jennie (Jerry) Stohler of North Webster; and Margaret (Paul) Karst of Pierceton.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, March 16, at Owen Family Funeral Home, SR 13 and CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, in the funeral home with Pastor Bob Conelley of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by the North Webster American Legion.
